Personal // What if conference // Cabo

Recently I attended the What If Conference in Cabo. Being that it was the first of its kind, I didn’t know what to expect but I knew it would be awesome. I was drawn to the conference because of the community and the awesome lineup of speakers. The conference was a huge push to get out of my comfort zone in so many ways. We were left with assignments to challenge ourselves daily. Lunch and dinner became brainstorming sessions where we would help grow our businesses.  I was taught to set audacious goals, stay hungry and avoid burnout. I’m learning to embrace failure as a stepping stone to something greater rather than something to be afraid of.

One of my recent challenges to myself has been learning to use film. I came with 4 rolls and forced myself to use every frame. Every time I clicked the shutter my heart would beat a little faster because I didn’t know how it would come out. What if I did all this work and nothing came out because I messed up?? It was a risk work taking. Getting the scans back from the lab felt like Christmas. My only regret was not shooting more.

If you’re an artist-prenure looking for inspiration you should definitely check out the next one in Portland. It will blow you away.

The radiant Beata English also working her film camera as well  🙂  Homegirl came from Australia!

Nancy and Mo from Mango Studios in Toronto. Aren’t they just fabulous?

Poor Kilean was on her way to get breakfast and I ambushed her for a portrait.

Susan and I wanted to take advantage of the awesome setting and sneak in a few portraits of each other. I have to say, every time someone photographs me I learn something new.

Last but not least my iphone instagram photos….
