Welcome to my new site

Today marks the start of my brand new website. While this site may look clean and simple, the journey was long and winding. Douglas Horton says “The art of simplicity is a puzzle of complexity.” The site you see before you is a result of my inner journey from the past year. A journey of embracing who I am, quirks and all.  My eyes were opened to the possibilities that exist as opposed to my self made barriers that only serve to limit me.

Above, is a reminder of my former site. It was beautiful, inviting  and incredibly difficult to let go but I felt that it limited my growth. I wanted my work to speak for its self with out the assistance of added graphic elements. Leonardo da Vinci said it best, “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”

Uncomfortable with being in the spotlight, I found myself hiding from my own greatness. In fact if I had a visual poem, of what I feel my inner transition would look like it would be the following 2 images…

Rose colored glasses with my head buried in a daydream vs a clear head and restored creative energy. I’m excited to produce some of the best work I’ve yet to even create because I am now more aware of my limiting beliefs and chose to power through them. What you can expect from my blog are updated photos from what I’m working on as well as shoots from the archives I have yet to showcase. I’ve been working on a few new projects and can’t wait to share the photos with you.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and be a part of my life. While I am passionate about photography, it’s hearing all your encouraging feedback that keeps me going knowing that I can make a difference by following my heart. I’ll leave you with a quote by Marianne Williamson that encouraged me when I doubted myself the most.

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
