Photographing families has been a surprising joy partially because it was a fear for so long. The thought of taking staged photos drained me so redirected that thought into a question. What if I were to photograph a family more like a wedding? Sure we’ll get a few photos where everyone is looking into the camera but what really motivates me is the story. When I am connected to a story it makes me feel as if a good friend with a camera hanging out verses trying to control various moving parts.
Being able to observe and mirror back the beauty that’s in front of me is one of the various joys of journalism. This session melted my heart. Hope you enjoy it!
